1. Who we are

Food Spy ("the app") is provided by Debora Duro ("we", "us"). When you use Food Spy you are contracting with Debora Duro. Billing, refund and cancellation questions are handled by our reseller Paddle at paddle.net.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or continuing to use Food Spy, you agree to these terms. You must be an adult (18+) to create an account; children may use the app under the supervision of the account holder.

3. The service

Food Spy is an educational app that helps families read food labels: label scanning, product and recipe search, nutrient lessons, recipes and an ebook. Label scanning and some suggestions are generated by AI and may be inaccurate.

4. Not medical advice — allergies

Food Spy is for education only and is not medical or dietary advice. Scans, allergen, milk, gluten and nut results can be wrong or incomplete. Always read the actual package and follow your doctor's or allergist's advice. Do not rely on Food Spy to decide whether a food is safe for someone with an allergy or celiac disease.

5. Free trial and subscription

• Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with full access. No card is needed, and you are not charged automatically when it ends.
• After the trial, continued access requires a Food Spy Family subscription: $3.99 per month or $30 per year (taxes may apply). Without one, the app is locked.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from Account → "Manage, switch or cancel plan". You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• You can switch between monthly and yearly from the same place.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are also governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

6. Your account

Keep your sign-in details private and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account. A subscription is for your household's personal use.

7. Acceptable use

You must not: use Food Spy unlawfully; commit fraud or send spam; infringe others' intellectual property; upload content you don't have rights to; interfere with security (malware, probing, scraping, overloading); reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app; or try to get around the trial or subscription limits.

8. Your photos and feedback

Label photos you upload are processed only to provide the scan. You give us a limited licence to process them for that purpose. Feedback you send may be used to improve the app.

9. Intellectual property

We own Food Spy, including its software, design, characters, recipes, ebook content and branding. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under your plan. Some food data comes from Open Food Facts (ODbL) and recipe data from TheMealDB, under their own licences.

10. Availability

We work to keep Food Spy running, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations. You can stop using Food Spy and delete your account anytime by contacting us.

12. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Food Spy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.

14. Changes

We may update these terms and will show the new date above. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
